RO Water

What is RO water?
RO water stands for Reverse Osmosis Water. Reverse Osmosis is a purification process in which a semipermeable membrane is used to seperate water molecules from other substances. Pressue is put on the solution side which causing the solvent to move through the membrane seperating the water from the substances. This treatment is primarily used to seperate dissolved solutes from water. Reverse Osmosis is commonly used for treatment for drinking water, it can however also be used for the treatment of Aquarium water.
Benefits for your Aquarium
RO water eliminates harmful contaminants present in tap water, such as chlorines, heavy metals, and nitrates, creating improved water quality. The elimination of these contaminates and the improved water quality provides a clean slate for creating ideal water conditions for fish and plants that you cannot achieve with an internal or external filter alone. RO water helps to create stable water parameters which helps maintain stable pH levels as well as help reduce the algae growth and mineral crust build up in your aquarium.
